Request Permission to use Sports Facility

Access any sports facility in Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique

Service Information

The Government of Grenada encourages sports development at the national and global levels. The Division of Sports, in the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports, Culture, and the Arts, is responsible for all Government Sporting Facilities and Hard Courts in Grenada; except those that are managed by statutory boards. While applying, kindly note the following-

  • The facility is used on a first come first served basis except there is a scheduled activity
  • Scheduled activities take precedence.
  • Groups or individual using the facility consistently for recreation must inform the facility manager.
  • Absolutely no bottled dinks are allowed on the playing field or court.
  • No vehicles are allowed to drive on the playing field or court.

Conditions for Usage of Sports Facility 

  • A fee will be charged based on the type of activity (see Fees Structure). Fees must be paid before use of facility
  • When planned to sell alcoholic drinks, a license for the sale of Alcoholic drinks must be presented to the Ministry at least one day prior to the activity.
  • Applicants are responsible for any damages of the facilities
  • Applicants must remove all material used within 24 hours after their activity except when special arrangements are made.
  • Applicants will be charged for non-removal of equipment after allotted time is up

Use of Facilities

  • Facilities shall be open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
  • Patrons using the facility shall respect other users right to use the facility.
  • The facility is used on a first come first served basis except there is a scheduled activity
  • Scheduled activities take precedence.
  • Sports that are out of season have at least two days of priority practice during the week.
  • Sports in their competition season has priority usage on weekends and at least three days during the week.

Process Steps
  1. Register yourself as an individual and obtain access credentials to the E-Services portal.
  2. Sign in and access the Request Permission to Use Sports Facility Form
  3. The Form must be completed at least six (6) weeks in advance by filling the request Form. The form reaches the Permanent Secretary’s Office
  4. Application takes at least 48 hours to process. Also, kindly be open to a call from the Department Office to ascertain and clarify use, timings and associated costs.
  5. After approval, all fees must be paid to the Government of Grenada at the Treasury or its sub-offices located throughout the island (see Fee Structure below).
  6. The applicants will then sign a usage contract. After signing, Applicants must contact the facility manager to make final preparation

Explanatory Notes: 

  • Shows 1 - Shows with Foreign Artiste. 
  • Shows 2 - Local Artistes only. 
  • Shows 3 - Religious and NGOs with Foreign Artiste. 
  • Bingo 1   - Private Promoters. 
  • Bingo 2   - NGOs. 

Electricity Usage 

  • A payment of $50.00 per hour must be made for the use of lights on the major playing fields and $25.00 per hour on minor fields. 
  • The Hard Court lighting fee is $5.00 per hour. 
  • These payments should be made to the Treasury or its sub-offices throughout the island. The receipt must be brought to the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports, Culture, and the Arts, where a certificate would be issued to the user.
