Business Tax ID

Businesses and Companies need to register with Inland Revenue Division (IRD) to obtain a valid Tax Identification Number in order to pay annual taxes.

Service Information

Every person who owns or operates a small, medium or large business is required to register and obtain a valid Tax ID from the Inland Revenue Division (IRD), in order to comply with Section 12 of the Tax Administration Act 14 of 2016, and Section 9 of the Value Added Tax Act No. 23 of 2009. Non registration of your business or your company will prevent payment of taxes, and shall attract related fines due to nonpayment of taxes and constitutes a crime.

IRD facilitates online registration and online tax collection in order to enhance the ease of doing business in Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique.

Note:

  1. A person who has registered a business or company, and has not registered with the Inland Revenue Division within 30 days, is guilty of offence and is liable to pay a fixed penalty of EC $ 2500.00
  2. A registered business or corporation shall keep records of their activities, and may pay tax before the due date to avail concessions.
  3. Changes to the business or corporation such as ownership, details of partner / directors, change of location, or addition or deletion to nature of business needs to be reported to the IRD and to CAIPO within 21 days, failing which a fine of EC $2500 shall be collected.

Pre-requisites
  1. Ensure that your business or company is registered with the Corporate Affairs & Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO), Ministry of Legal Affairs
  2. You have obtained a valid Business or Company Registration Number
  3. Business Name Registration: registering a Business, or a Sole Trader requires
    1. Business Name Registration Certificate
    2. Certificate of Statement of Particulars
Process Steps
  1. Enroll yourself online and obtain valid access credentials. (note: you can fill and submit the forms using this Eservices Portal of the Government of Grenada. Alternately you can visit the eservices portal of Ministry of Finance that shall facilitate the same)
  2. Process for Business / Sole Trader
    1. Download the Individual Enterprise Registration Form
    2. Complete and Upload the Individual Enterprise Registration Form, Business Registration Certificate, and Certificate of Statement of Particulars
  3. Partnerships
    1. Download the Non-Individual Registration Form. Complete this for the Partnership Organization
    2. Download the Individual Registration Form. Each Partner shall fill this form to completion
    3. Upload the following documents
      1. Completed Non-Individual Registration Form
      2. Certificate of Incorporation and Article of Incorporation
      3. Proof of Partnership (document attested by the Supreme Court Registry)
      4. Completed Individual Registration Form for each Partner
  4. Process for Corporations & NGOs
    1. Download the Non-Individual Registration Form. Complete this for the company / organization
    2. Download the Individual Registration Form. Each Director shall fill this form to completion
    3. Upload the following documents
      1. Completed & Signed Non-Individual Registration Form
      2. Certificate of Incorporation and Article of Incorporation
    4. Completed & Signed Individual Registration Form for each Director
  5. Review and submit.
  6. Alternately, handover the filled form to the Inland Revenue Division, Ministry of Finance for subsequent processing.
  7. Follow the status of the payment online.
  8. Once a taxation ID is provided, you will be intimated of the same for further operational steps that enable tax payments and due process compliances.
